Renaissance High School for the Arts is a visual and performing arts school in downtown Long Beach. In addition to academics, the calendar is full of rehearsals, performances, festivals, art shows, and competitions.
The biggest event of the year is the Open House Arts Festival. Renaissance invites the community to an immersive arts experience on campus. Each year has a different theme. At the Myths & Legends themed festival, attendees dressed as Greek gods, superheroes, and even Santa Claus, explored the campus full of drawings, sculptures, and murals while dancers, actors, singers, and musicians performed. At one point, students shrouded in black passed silently through the crowds to the amphitheater stage and began a dance ending in one dancer in red, rising from the group like a phoenix, a metaphor for the school returning to their rebuilt campus after two years away.
Join us at this year's Festival on April 12.
