Every Sunday morning at 10am in the Wardlow Park Social Hall, locals are coming together to deepen their spirituality. They come from diverse backgrounds: some religious, some not; some new to the experience and some who have been attending Living Beyond Limits or other similar groups for decades. But all share a common goal to cultivate greater love, compassion, kindness, generosity, and inclusivity, while learning to remain centered amidst life’s challenges.

“We are spiritual, not religious, “says Reverend Jennifer Spear, an East Long Beach resident who leads the services each Sunday. “Our focus is on awakening our spiritual nature, deepening our connection with Spirit, and bringing spirituality to everyday living.”

Living Beyond Limits is a Long Beach-based chapter of Centers for Spiritual Living, a global organization founded in the early 20th century by Dr. Ernest Holmes. Holmes believed there was a thread of truth running through every great religion and philosophy, and it was his desire to pull out that thread. He took his learnings and created principles called “Science of Mind,” the philosophical beliefs that Centers of Spiritual Living continue to teach and live today.

What can you expect if you show up on a Sunday morning? A service, led by Reverend Spear, which reminds participants that they each were created as a whole spiritual being, and focuses on practices and tools to help them remain centered despite life’s struggles.

Most of all, you can expect a welcoming community that respects all spiritual paths; and accepts you no matter where you are on that path, no matter what your spiritual background has been.

To learn more, go to livingbeyondlimitscsl.org, or better yet, show up at Wardlow Park on a Sunday at 10am and feel the connection.
