“TEACHING LESSONS”

In 2015, Christina Crissman (a teacher at Poly High School) was sent to observe the classroom of Jeff Nesmith at Wilson High. And the rest was—as they say in Jeff’s academic department—history. The two locals hit it off during this chance encounter and began dating. Today, as a married couple, their lives have merged beautifully into a Long Beach dream–living by the Colorado Lagoon, going out to eat in Belmont Shore, attending outdoor concerts, and seeing former students everywhere they go.

Their wedding in 2023 was held at Rancho Los Cerritos which Jeff describes as the best wedding venue in Long Beach. “The space has history, a beautiful garden setting that amplifies Long Beach’s perfect weather, and an overall iconic feeling that transports you to a different time in Long Beach.”

The wedding was planned and organized by Marni, the owner of So Smitten Events, and her umbrella of f/8 collective vendors. To cap the perfect Long Beach wedding, the guests took the Big Red Bus from Rancho Los Cerritos to Tantalum for an after party.
