El Burrito Grill

El Burrito Grill owner, José Diaz, is from a restaurant family. His parents own the El Burrito Jr. restaurant chain, but José wanted to start his own venture with a nod to his family’s legacy and began El Burrito Grill. José opened his second location on PCH in 2011, 2 years after the success of the first restaurant on Bellflower Blvd.

The restaurant’s menu offers many choices of Mexican cuisine, but José is most proud of the Wet Burrito made with his abuela’s unique red sauce recipe and their refried beans (another recipe from his abuela). Customers crave the beans. “We’ve shipped Bean and Cheese Burritos to Canada, Hawaii, and Florida!” José remarks with a grin.

José’s favorite dish is the carnitas. His recipe originates from the state of Michoacán in Mexico where he was raised. “I love to scoop the pork into tortillas and make tacos,” he grins.

To support some of our New Year’s resolutions, El Burrito Grill will be offering a “Light Menu” featuring salads and healthier options. Both locations feature happy hours (M-F, 2pm-6pm), and offer catering, school fundraisers and website specials. The Bellflower Blvd location has a private banquet area to host your next event.
