Activate the business district on the fourth Friday of every month. Then, you can expect to enjoy extended store hours, food and drink specials, discounted merchandise, pop-up shops, art shows, live music, double-decker bus rides, and more along the thoroughfare. The Long Beach Trolley will be cruising up and down 4th Street and a bike valet will be available for those biking to the event.

Earth Day Celebration

Celebrate our Mother Earth with this free, open-to-the-public event. It is a great opportunity to explore Long Beach’s very own Urban Farm, get healthy living tips, taste some healthy food samples and learn to start growing your own food at home. The Farm’s after-school program for the youth will be creating products while utilizing the farm as the ingredient source.

Family Concert: We Can Be Heroes!

The Symphony is very excited to be presenting a brand new concert this spring designed entirely for children of all ages and their families. This family concert will be a celebration of the fun of orchestral music. The concert will be preceded and followed by a Musical Playground including games, an instrument petting zoo, community performances, and arts and crafts, and food trucks and more! Families from all over Long Beach are encouraged to come and enjoy an experience celebrating the joy of making music together. All children will be free with the purchase of an adult ticket.

Sunday Free Women’s Self Defense Workshop

Our Self-Defense Sunday Workshops are a basic introduction to hand-to-hand defenses and non-lethal weapons. This interactive, 90-minute workshop will go over basic strikes and combinations along with non-lethal weapons like stun guns, pepper spray, and pressure point tools. If you've always wanted to take a self-defense seminar but haven't, this is the opportunity you have been looking for. For the comfort of our attendees, this is a women-only class and it is appropriate for ages 14+. It is perfect if you want to take your daughters, grand-daughters, sisters, or mothers to have a bonding experience that is teaching you valuable lessons in self defense!
