What sort of purpose do you feel in your job and/or why do you believe your line of work is important and meaningful?

As a money manager you are entrusted with a persons savings and/or retirement. I am tasked with preserving and growing the nest egg so a client can have peace of mind and enjoy life. I take that responsibility very seriously.

What is the most exciting part of your day-to-day work?

I love the portfolio management side of my job, but I love the people (clients) more.

What do you think the future of your industry looks like, let's say in 15 years? What impact will it be making? How will it be different from what you do now?

Technology has completely changed our industry, and will continue to. I believe people will have many more tools at their discretion in the future as technology evolves. Our company will have to continue to offer client technology and provide excellent customer service.

When did you decide you wanted to enter this field? What steps did you take to make that decision a reality?

I am third generation in this industry, and in Long Beach. I watched my Grandfather and Father build their company and decided to go to work for them. Eventually I opened my own firm and the rest is history!

For any students, age 12-18 who thinks your job sounds interesting, what advice would you give them to help them learn/train/explore your field?

Open a small savings account and start investing. I like to have kids take ownership in their accounts and help with investment decisions. That's how I learned, my Grandfather had me reading the Wall St Journal and charting stocks at a very young age.

What makes Long Beach a great place to live and work as it relates to your industry?

I live and work in Long Beach. My Parents and Grandparents lived and worked in Long Beach. I am part of the community, and I like to be an asset to the community.
