A friendly, comfortable, home-style American restaurant-diner. You don’t have to take a road trip to the Midwest for your family to experience the classic combo that sometimes seems like a lost art—good food and good manners.  Perhaps that’s why Sunrise Café in Lakewood is so busy seven days a week, with a line out the door for weekend breakfast.

A toy train runs along the perimeter of the friendly oval restaurant, while owners Kent and Jacqueline greet almost every customer personally. They serve the kind of classic food that, “The best cook in your family would make on a regular basis,” describes owner Kent Killian. “Always made with love and care.”

Breakfast favorites include standards done right, like eggs benedict and banana pancakes, as well as a Southern California specialty…  breakfast chilaquiles served with red or green sauce.

The lunch menu features a variety of sandwiches, salads, and much more — from spaghetti to enchiladas. Their burgers made with 100% ground beef are the best-sellers.

When asked what’s the “secret recipe” to Sunrise Café’s long-term success, Kent quickly responds, “It’s definitely the customer service. When you’re eating here... you’re eating at home. Jacqueline and I pride ourselves on customer service first and foremost. We want you to feel like you’re somewhere you belong.”

Sunrise Café is open seven days a week from 7AM-3PM. Located at 4101 N. Lakewood Blvd, Lakewood, 90712.
