Andrew Mcbride: A Young Man With A Big Appetite
Background: Andrew Bourgeois McBride is 4th generation born and raised in Long Beach. Professionally, Andrew manages at Boathouse on the Bay (190 N. Marina Dr.) and shares the general manager title at Patty’s Place (500 PCH, Ste. 104) in Seal Beach. He is building his expertise and knowledge-base under the direction of John Morris and the talented teams at each of these restaurants.
How are you making an impact in Long Beach? Working at Boathouse has allowed me to work with some great charity organizations including the Big Bang on the Bay, the Long Beach Century Club, and Children’s Today. I participate annually with the Long Beach Basket Brigade and the Long Beach Turkey Trot during Thanksgiving. I currently sit on the Board of Directors for Team 100, an organization that partners with Food for Kids to raise money to feed the children and families of Long Beach most in need. How has Long Beach shaped your world view?
There are half a million people in Long Beach and it still amazes me how many people know each other. Everywhere I turn there is someone I know, by family, by sports, or by school. We have a small town feel; “The Biggest Little City.”
What are your goals for the next 5 years? My Five-Year Plan includes continuing to build success for Boathouse on the Bay and Patty’s Place. I would also one day want to become a successful business owner. I will continue to invest in real estate with my father. We live in a time where seeing the world is possible, and I intend to do so, visiting a new country every year, experiencing new cultures and lifestyles.
