Father’s Day & 3rd of July At Boathouse On The Bay

With summer kicking off in just a few days, summer holidays are quickly approaching our calendars and we can't help but ponder over what plans we have in store for the two big summer holidays, Father’s Day and 4th of July.

Fear not, Boathouse On The Bay is cooking up something spectacular for all you Long Beach residents and outside commuters!

Father’s Day

Sunday, June 16

9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Think your dad deserves the world? Then show him what it's like to dine like a king at Boathouse On The Bay’s Father’s Day Buffet.

The buffet will be providing food options such as seafood and sushi, a carving station, an omelet station and more! The regular menu will start at 4 p.m. that day.

“We usually have a pretty sweet ice sculpture,” manager, Andrew McBride said. “We use to only do buffets on big holidays, but we received such positive feedback that we decided to spread it to other holidays.”

Live entertainment will be provided all day out on the patio. The extravagant dining experience will cost $49.95 a person and $19.95 for children under 12 years old. The price does not include tax and a 20% gratuity tip.

Reservations are preferred and can be made at (562) 493-1100. If Boathouse On The Bay does fill up they can’t guarantee spots for walk-ins. Last reservations are taken at 2 p.m.

Big Bang On The Bay Block Party!

Wednesday, July 3

5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

With fireworks being illegal in Long Beach, it leads residents to leave the city and celebrate elsewhere or to settle for KTLA 5’s aerial view firework coverage on a TV screen at home.

Why not spice up the holiday and try something new?

On the day before the 4th of July Boathouse On The Bay will be hosting its Big Bang On The Bay Block Party.

On July 3, the street leading up to Boathouse On The Bay will be shut down and turned into a giant block party where people wanting access to the event will have to buy a ticket for entry.

On the block, there will be two bars set up in the street, a DJ, a band and a stage set up. Music, drinks, and food will also be offered on the street.

However, inside the boathouse, the restaurant will be catering food from Naples Rib Company. Food options such as BBQ baby back ribs, BBQ bone-in chicken, hot dogs. BBQ beans, coleslaw, potato salad, and cornbread with honey butter will be up for grabs.

Vintage aircraft flyovers, skydivers, sailing regatta dancing, and fireworks over Alamitos Bay are all scheduled to make an appearance that night.

“John Morris the boss has been doing this since the first year boathouse opened five years ago,” McBride said. “A lot of people don’t have access to fireworks in Long Beach so everyone in the city and Naples community has to go somewhere else to see them.”

Block Party seating is $50 per person and $30 for kids 10 and under. If you choose to dine at Boathouse On The Bay, inside seating is $60 per person and patio seating is $95 per person, both prices don't include tax and a 20% gratuity tip. For VIP tables of 10 or more prices will vary.

If you get a table inside the restaurant the table is yours for the night and customers can come in and out of the restaurant and block party as they please. However, if you choose to just buy a block party ticket you aren't permitted inside the restaurant.

To book a table inside and on the patio at Boathouse On The Bay email kristing@boathouseonthebay.com or call (562) 493-1100. For Block Party tickets and VIP tables for 10 visit www.childrentoday.org.

All proceeds will be given to charities such as Autism Partnership, Children Today, Miller Foundation, Captain Rosa Memorial Scholarship and more.
