Precious Life Shelter Presents...A Precious Christmas

One of the best ways to kick off the holiday season is with “A Precious Christmas.” Mark your calendars now for Dec. 2 from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Precious Life Shelter in Los Alamitos.

Santa Claus will be there taking pictures with the kids and there will be holiday music, Christmas carolers, cookies, drinks, and of course…the shelter.

“The shelter will be decked to the nines!” executive director Theresa Murphy said. “It is really a wonderful opportunity for people to kick off the holiday season, bring their kids for Santa, and learn more about Precious Life Shelter!”

Precious Life Shelter is a nonprofit that gives shelter to pregnant homeless women and helps them find a job, home, and a better life for their newborn. One of the best parts about this charitable cause is that it actually has a physical presence where you can see the shelter, counseling, and love work wonders for these women. It all happens right here in Los Alamitos.

And that’s what’s so special about bringing your family to “A Precious Christmas”—seeing the love and real difference Precious Life Shelter makes. While your kids and grandkids can enjoy the fun and games that go along with Santa Claus and his cookies, you can tour the home, see the good happening, and truly get into the Christmas spirit!

“It really is an open house for the community. People have preconceived notions of what they think a shelter is. This is our chance to show the community that this truly is a home,” Murphy said.

Not only can the community meet the women and children currently living in the shelter, but they can also ask any questions they have to the staff and residents. Maybe most importantly, many graduates of the program often come back to this event and not only bring their kids to meet Santa, but also are happy to interact with attendees.

“It’s an amazingly positive experience to see that ‘Wow! This person came from being homeless to living here in the shelter, and now they are living on their own in an apartment or a house. Wow this really does work!’”

Precious Life Shelter is a safe, warm, wonderful place doing wonderful work. Come kick off your holiday cheer by celebrating all the positivity dressed up in a magical Christmas Wonderland the whole family can enjoy!
