Learn the basics of embroidery in Part I of LBMA's Embroidery Workshop. The project will focus on recreating Matisse drawings into beautiful, hand-stitched formats. Beach Brawl: Roller Derby Double Header

Enjoy your Saturday afternoon at the beach watching an arousing assortment of athletically-clad and super-tough roller girls bumping, shoving, and scoring. If you haven’t had the opportunity to catch a roller derby match you won’t want to miss this double-header outdoor event. This is a “BYO” event, so remember to bring a chair, snacks and other refreshments. Kids under 10 are free and presale is only $10.
Concerts at the Beach: The G3 Band

There are plenty of outdoor concerts to enjoy this summer, but the new concert series at CSULB joins community and music to the high learning epicenter of Long Beach like no other. Pack a picnic dinner to enjoy before the concert, then listen and dance to lively bands when the sun goes down. The G3 Band is back for a second performance at Concerts. Led by the vocals of Karen Lee, they play cover tunes touching all genres including classic rock and roll, oldies, country and current Billboard tunes.
