Zines Are Us

If you are not familiar with zine culture, this is a definite must-do to expand your awareness of the communities that keep Long Beach uniquely diverse. Go ahead…get on your browser and search “zine.” Once you exit the rabbit hole, we will be here with more info about this celebration of local zine culture! This event is a workshop consisting of an artist-led discussion followed by a zine-making workshop. The underlying intention of this event is to convey that zines are for everyone regardless of a person’s color, creed, gender identity, or sexual orientation—everyone should be able to enjoy zine art, creative production, independent publishing and culture. Long Beach Dragon Boat Festival

Long Beach Marine Stadium | 55255 E. Paoli Way, Long Beach 90803

Join spectators from around the world and experience the Dragon Boat Festival. Dragon Boat Racing is an amateur watersport that has roots in an ancient folk ritual held over the past 2000 years throughout southern China. The Long Beach version of this event takes the competitive instinct of Dragon Boat Racing and inserts amateur rowers to create a friendly and light-hearted element to the rivalry. Spectators will enjoy watching the fun unfold in the water and enjoy experiencing the fun on land. The on-land events include Chinese traditional art demonstrations, Chinese Acrobats, traditional dance, hip hop, music and martial arts performances. Learn More:
