Arts for Inclusion: Best Buddies

Best Buddies Arts for Inclusion is an exhibition of art made by Long Beach students with developmental disabilities. Best Buddies supports friendship between students with disabilities and their nondisabled classmates through social, arts, and community volunteer activities. Meet the artists and enjoy performances by Jordan High School’s Latin American Dance Team. This event is FREE!
Live Disco Night at the Roller Rink

Every third Thursday of the month is party time over at the Bayshore Roller Rink. Show up to this Thursday’s event in your bell bottom pants, sequin jumpsuit, or spandex muscle shirt and prepare to Bounce, Rock, Roll, Skate! There is a $10 charge and skaters of all ages and abilities are welcome. Skate rental is available on a first come first serve or you may visit Moxie Roller Skate shop for rentals.

1st Annual Long Beach Filipino Festival

Ride of Silence Long Beach

The Ride of Silence is a yearly international bicycle ride to commemorate cyclists killed or injured while riding on public roads. This is a family-friendly five-mile ride, which mostly occurs on bike lanes with no hills. There is a free bike safety check starting at 4 p.m. and the ride begins at 5 p.m. Things to bring: helmet, water and snacks, bike lights and spare inner tubes.

Long Beach Pride Parade

Gather along the sidewalks of Ocean Boulevard and prepare for the remarkable 35th anniversary of the Gay and Lesbian Pride Parade celebration! Enjoy performances from cheerleaders, bikers, marchers, local businesses and a ton more colorful fun. The Long Beach Pride Festival is inclusive and strives to promote an environment that is free from prejudice and bias.

Water Safety Challenge

Drowning is the leading cause of death for children under the age of four. In an effort to spread awareness about the importance of water safety, Deep Blue Swim School has teamed up with the Swim For Life Foundation, Care Ambulance, the Long Beach Lifeguard Association, and the National Drowning Prevention Alliance to host a Water Safety Challenge. At this free event, children will have the opportunity to get in the pool and participate in various water safety exercises with instructors. There will be informational handouts on how to be safe around water and Long Beach lifeguards will also be there to answer questions and give out information.

Antique and vintage finds at (literally) bargain prices. We love this market for its selection and for the feeling we get when we score something amazing for our abode. It spans nearly the entire lot of Vet’s Stadium and draws many interesting characters from trendy vendors to quirky guests in their best vintage attire. We love spending every third Sunday morning cruising the aisles and piles at the Long Beach Flea Market!
