Party on the Ice This Summer
Cool off this summer by visiting Lakewood ICE - The Rinks for discounted public skating!
Public skating is offered year-round at Lakewood ICE - The Rinks, but this summer will be extra special. Cool off this summer — really cool off — by visiting Lakewood ICE - The Rinks from June 1 to August 31, and enjoy public skating for just $8, which includes admission and skate rental.
“It’s a really good deal — it’s almost half-off our original price [for public skating],” said Lakewood ICE’s marketing liaison Connie Valverde. “Last summer was popping because it was our first year offering a special summer deal for public skate. Many people came to take advantage of a great deal.”
The Rinks has over a thousand pairs of well-maintained ice hockey and figure skates, as well as skate mates for those who need a little help on the ice. Lakewood ICE - The Rinks also hosts a number of youth and adult hockey leagues throughout the year.
If visiting The Rinks, however, it’s probably best to pack some extra, warm clothes.
“There’s a story that’s popular around The Rinks,” said William Ferrero, The Rinks marketing intern. “A dad came up to a scorekeeper wearing shorts and t-shirt and said, ‘Can you turn up the heat? It’s cold in here.’”
But, this doesn’t mean you can’t get creative this summer at The Rinks with what you wear! Come to The Rinks’ Hawaiian T-shirt themed public skate — just make sure to bring your parka along with it!
Make sure to visit the Lakewood ICE - The Rinks Facebook page or check out their website for up-to-date information on special theme nights throughout the summer, like the American theme night around 4th of July and the aforementioned Hawaiian Shirt night. There will also be a concession stand where you can buy food and beer as well. It’s an all-around party on the ice this summer at Lakewood ICE!
