Long Beach Zombie Fest

Friday, Oct. 19-Sunday, Oct. 21

Rainbow Lagoon Park

Long Beach Zombie Fest scares up a hell of a good time in truly chilling fashion with an assortment of activities for the whole family to enjoy. You're invited to shuffle your corpses to Long Beach for three days of fun this Halloween season. The infamous Zombie Walk in Long Beach will be taking place all three days, too. Costumes are encouraged but not mandatory. COME DEAD OR ALIVE!

DON'T HAVE A COSTUME? Halloween is a classic holiday for getting things done at the last minute, if at all. Long Beach Zombie Fest takes the stress out of costume shopping by providing a team of killer Hollywood artists from Cinema Makeup School to turn you into a flesh-eating zombie. This service is completely free, too!

Friday, Oct. 19: 5-10 p.m.

Saturday, Oct. 20: 3-10 p.m.

Sunday, Oct. 21: 3-10 p.m.

The Long Beach Zombie Fest offers games, mazes, live music, and good food. For more information visit https://longbeachzombiefest.com.

Tickets for Friday are $7, while Saturday and Sunday are $13. For ticket packages check out https://longbeachzombiefest.com/tickets. HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

2nd Street

The 15th annual Belmont Shore Sidewalk Chalk Art Contest, presented by Justin Rudd and his nonprofit 501c3 Community Action Team, will be Saturday, Oct. 20. The event is part of the Belmont Shore Art Walk on Second Street, and is free for artists ages 18 and up.

Attracting seasoned and emerging visual artists, as well as participants from local high schools and universities, the Chalk Art contest will showcase the works of diverse artists who will use chalk as their medium and the sidewalks of Belmont Shore as their canvas. There will be $1,000 cash awarded again this year.

Best in Show: $350

1st Place: $250

2nd Place: $150

Honorable Mentions: five awards at $50 each

Director's Awards: $50 to $100

Artists will draw on premium artist's paper that will be affixed to the sidewalk with blue masking tape. Artists are free to take home their artwork after the judging and/or to sell their art at the event. By drawing on paper, it also allows artists to move indoors if it rains.
