Heartwell Park Bulldog Meetup! 🐶

Written By Monique Garcia

As a dog lover, no day can start better than being surrounded by friendly pups. Last week, that is exactly what I did when I attended the Long Beach Bulldog Meetup at Heartwell Park.

The wonderful morning of cute madness was planned and executed by Vanessa Bonifacio, bulldog mom to Sama, Sumo, and Charlie. Not only was it a wonderful opportunity to socialize and exercise with furry pals, but the meetup group is also growing to be a community that supports and offers advice to new and veteran bulldog owners.

“My goal is to build a community to help spread love and awareness of the bulldog breed,” stated Bonifacio.

Vanessa is also currently in the process of creating a foundation, called chunkzntubz, to raise money for rescue bulldogs in honor of her furry angels who passed away. Her mission is to spread the knowledge of what being a bulldog owner entails, so others don’t experience the same heartache she had. There is hope to see this meetup become a monthly event that will no doubt be marked on the calendar of many bulldog parents.

“In the future, I would love to put together a bulldog beauty pageant. I can just imagine a little parade of them in costumes!” remarked Bonifacio.

If you are lucky enough to be the owner of a bulldog yourself, save the date for the next LB Bulldog Meetup which is planned for March 27th from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Any bulldog breeds from American, English, French or anything in-between are invited to attend.
