5 Reasons to Visit the Chiropractor Before Summer

Summer is a time of year when we are active and want to look and feel our best. But it is important to know before heading into the summer season how our muscles are firing. Half of the time we think we are fine and don’t have a problem, but that’s not always the case. Here are five reasons to visit the chiropractor before summer.

Reason #1: Look and feel your best

Let’s face it, we all want to look good in a bathing suit this summer. Through chiropractic adjustments, chiropractors are able to correct and reverse poor posture, correcting the spinal misalignment that leads to those less-than-desirable hunched over positions — and no one wants that when they’re most exposed. We want to feel confident and open, like we can conquer the world in our bathing suits, or at least impress our significant other. Not to mention, working with a chiropractor to correct posture goes towards improving the longevity of your entire musculoskeletal system.

Reason #2: Perform optimally for summer sports and activities

Joe Montana, former NFL quarterback, largely credits his longevity and performance on the football field to chiropractic work. He would see the chiropractor religiously to perform his best on the field. Even doing simple outdoor activities, like gardening, can become a real hassle if muscles are not aligning and firing properly. Seeing a chiropractor can help you enjoy those sports and activities you love.

Reason #3: Rehabilitate and prevent injury

If you’re worried about not recovering from an injury suffered earlier in time, regular chiropractic work is a proven way to improve functional muscle length and mobility while breaking down that dense scar tissue from injury. Also, knots that we accumulate over time can restrict the functionality and mobility of the muscles, increasing stress on the surrounding joints and tendons. This pressure can lead to serious injury if not addressed.

Reason #4 See a chiropractor before those summer travels

It’s a good idea to visit a chiropractor right before and after a long trip not only to get adjusted, but to receive helpful tips to stay in tip-top condition while traveling. Dr. Denise M. Jones advises breaking up those long hours of sitting in a plane or car by pumping your legs, getting up and walking around to maintain good blood flow throughout your body. Hydration is another key component, especially when traveling by plane. Also make sure to wear sensible shoes and always just use one pillow when sleeping.

Reason #5: It’s good for the sunny countenance

Misalignments in the vertebrae have also been linked to depression. Dealing with these misalignments and subluxations through regular chiropractic visits have been known to be tremendously effective at elevating a person’s mood. So if you’re worried about carrying the Debbie Downer vibes into the sunshine, make sure to get that spine realigned so you can cruise down that coastline!

Make sure to visit chiropractor Denise M. Jones, DC, before summer. Her office is located in Naples Plaza. Not only will you be treated with kindness and warmth by Dr. Jones herself, but also by her amazing massage therapist Brian Castor. He will take care of those knots and tense places, so you can feel super relaxed and rejuvenated for the summer season.

“Seeing a chiropractor is a game changer a hundred fold, not only for your joints and muscles to perform optimally, but so that your whole central nervous system can be at homeostasis; everything is just balanced and good,” said Dr. Jones.
